LUCA ZENNARO

Luca Zennaro è un chitarrista, compositore e bandleader nato a Chioggia (Venezia) nel 1997.
Nato in una famiglia di musicisti si appassiona alla musica jazz molto presto, e all’età 16 anni si esibisce a festival come “Il Jazz Italiano per l’Aquila” o a “Venezze Jazz Festival”.
E’ secondo classificato al concorso Internazionale di Riga Jazz Stage 2017, tenutosi a Riga (Lettonia), in giuria il chitarrista Kurt Rosenwinkel. Sempre nello stesso anno è anche finalista del prestigioso Premio Massimo Urbani, dove vince la borsa di studio per Nuoro Jazz​. E' stato anche vincitore del premio "Tomorrow's jazz" 2018 presso la Fenice di Venezia.

Luca è inoltre il co-fondatore del trio bassless HackOut! (con lui Manuel Caliumi e Riccardo Cocetti) con il quale ha suonato
nei più importanti festival e istituti italiani di cultura di Europa (Parigi, Madrid, Bruxelles, Oslo, Colonia ecc..) suonando e registrando con il pianista franco-americano Jacky Terrasson. Con questa formazione ha registrato 3 album: "Cedrus Libani" (Slam - 2021), Sad Music for happy elevators (Caligola - 2023) e Cortado (in uscita in Ottobre 2024).
Negli anni passati Luca ha esplorato vari territori musicali: con il suo nuovo EP "ZENMUSIC" approccia la musica elettronica in un progetto che coinvolge musicisti come Chris Fishman, Giovanni Iacovella, Michelangelo Scandroglio, Francesco Panconesi e PPIERRRRE.
L'originalità del gruppo sta nel sapersi muovere con disinvoltura sia sul versante elettronico che su quello acustico.

Ha anche partecipato al tour europeo estivo con la star del pop Benjamin Clementine, esibendosi presso il North Sea Jazz Festival, a Rotterdam, Nos Alive a Lisbona, North Side in Danimarca, Mad cool a Madrid, Rock in Werchter e molti altri festival.

Luca ha collaborato con musicisti nazionali ed internazionali come Jacky Terrasson, Francesco Bearzatti, Benjamin Clementine, Gabriele Mirabassi, Chris Fishman, Domo Branch, Alessandro Lanzoni e molti altri.
Negli anni passati si è esibito nei festival e club più prestigiosi al mondo in Messico, Israele, UK, Danimarca, Svezia, Portogallo Senegal, Norvegia, Germania, Spagna, Olanda, Belgio, Francia e Lettonia.

Luca è considerato come uno dei musicisti più interessanti della scena jazz italiana.

​Luca Zennaro is a guitar player, composer and bandleader born in Venice, Italy in 1997.
​
Born in a musical family (both of his parents are piano player) and playing by ear from an early age and experimenting with improvisation drew Luca naturally to jazz music.
​
​Luca starts performing in jazz festivals at the age of sixteen, playing with italian musicians like Stefano Onorati and Stefano Paolini. ​
Luca is the 2nd place winner of the international Jazz competition "Riga Jazz Stage" 2017, the finalist of the prestigious competition "Premio Massimo Urbani" 2017, and the winner of the jazz competition "Tomorrow's jazz price" in Teatro La Fenice, in Venice.
During the summer of 2017 he records his debut album "Javaskara", which receives good feedback from the critics. And during 2019 he records his second album "When nobody is listening", featuring the pianist Alessandro Lanzoni.

Luca is also the co-founder of the bassless trio HackOut! with which he toured Europe during the fall of 2021, playing in France, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. They also recorded with the Blue Note artist Jacky Terrasson.

In the past years Luca explored many different musical territories: with his EP ZENMUSIC (Jipo Music - 2022) he records an electronic album with Chris Fishman on keybords and piano, Giovanni Iacovella, Michelangelo Scandroglio and PPIERRRE.

During the summer of 2024 he tours Europe with the pop-star Benjamin Clementine, playing at the prestigious North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, Nos Alive in Lisbon, Mad Cool in Madrid, Northside in Denmark and many others.
​
In the past years he played and recorded with national and interntional musicians like Rudy Royston, Francesco Bearzatti, Gabriele Mirabassi, Jack Walrath, Chris Fishman, Maurizio Giammarco, Giovanni Falzone, Alessandro Lanzoni and many others; playing in the most important italian festivals like Time In Jazz, Venezia Jazz Festival, Pavia Jazz, Casalini Jazz Nights, Casa del Jazz, Terni Jazz Festival, Nuoro Jazz, Il Jazz Italiano per L'Aquila and more, both as leader of his own band and as side-man.

He also played in festival and venues including Mexico, India, Sweden, Israel, UK, Norway, Senegal, Spain, Latvia, Belgium, France, Germany and Netherlands.
Luca is considered as one of the most interesting young musician of the Italian Jazz scene.
